AT Destination Church & Ministries we realize the strategic wisdom to partner with organizations that are already effective in missions. We have chosen to partner with Bridgeport Rescue Mission.

Bridgeport Rescue Mission demonstrates the love of God to hungry, homeless and addicted people throughout Fairfield County, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They fight poverty from the inside out by providing a place of hope and dignity through a year long educational program, biblical counseling and case management. They are funded by compassionate individuals, churches, businesses, organizations.

 Volunteer Opportunities

  • Provide Welcome Packages – for the emergency shelter guests and BRM New Life Discipleship Program residents.
  • Overnight Guest Package – Fill a Ziploc bag with hotel-size soap, shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste along with a toothbrush and a pair of white tube socks.
  • New Life Women’s Packages – Fill a Ziploc bag with full-sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, spray deodorant, bar soap, toothpaste, hand cream; along with a hairbrush, toothbrush, two pair of white socks and a bible.
  • New Life Men’s Packages – Fill a Ziploc bag with packaged disposable shavers, full-sized shaving cream, spray deodorant, bar soap, shampoo and toothpaste, along with one pair each black and white socks, packaged new briefs (L or XL) toothbrush, comb and a bible.
  • Fill the BRM Pantry – Help keep the pantry stocked with nutritious food, Collect ham,hotdogs, frozen turkeys, rice, sugar, canned fruit, vegetables and soups, pasta, sauces, dessert mixes, coffee and drink mixes. And fresh produce as well.
  • Donate Clothing & Blankets – Many poverty-stricken families must choose between paying rent or heating their homes. Donate new or gently used clothing for men, women and children in all sizes.  Collect new or gently used blankets for distribution to the poor and used in the shelters.
  • Winter Warm up – We can distribute coats, hats, gloves, scarves and mittens to thousands of homeless and low-income men, women and children each winter. Collect new and gently used winter-wear in every size for every age.
  • Bare Necessities – Provide the “bare necessities” for homeless and near-homeless men, women and children Collect new, packaged underwear and socks for all ages and sizes. (No bras, please.) Or, collect gift cards to Kohl’s so BRM can make purchases as needed.
  • Fill the Medicine Chest – Collect over-the-counter pain relievers, non-alcohol cold and flu remedies, Benadryl, cough drops, sinus meds, antacids, foot powder and cream, sunblock, aloe vera gel, bandages, antibiotic ointments, multivitamins and feminine care products to be shared with those in need.
  • Spread the Word – Spread the Good News of Jesus Christ by collecting bibles (complete with Old & New Testaments) Also Christian devotionals, DVDs, videos, books, journals or gift cards to Christian Book Stores.
